your role

* Strategic Carrier Negotiation: Take the lead in negotiating and securing the best rates and terms directly with shipping lines and global carriers to optimize freight spend and capacity.
* Global Logistics Command: Manage the complete life cycle of container and ocean freight bookings, ensuring seamless execution of global shipments from origin to destination.
* Compliance and Documentation Mastery: Serve as the authority on complex international shipping and customs documentation, ensuring 100% compliance across all jurisdictions and managing essential documents (B/L, customs declarations).
* Problem Solver & Risk Manager: Proactively identify and resolve supply chain bottlenecks and unexpected disruptions, mitigating risk to keep high-value shipments on schedule.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the critical link between the trading desk, finance, and external logistics partners, ensuring real-time communication and alignment on delivery schedules.
* Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate current carrier performance and processes, suggesting and implementing improvements to drive efficiency and cost savings across the logistics function.

who you are

* We are looking for at least 3 years of practical experience, with a primary focus on container and ocean freight logistics.
* Hands-on experience with negotiating rates and terms with international shipping lines and major freight forwarders.
* Fluency in both English and Czech (written and spoken) is essential for daily international and local operations.
* Proficiency in Spanish at a B2 level is additional asset, enhancing communication across key markets.
* Previous experience working specifically within a global commodity trading house, brokerage firm, or an organization focused on high-volume international import/export.
* A solid understanding of international customs procedures and complex shipping documentation.
* We seek a proactive, detailed-oriented team member who is comfortable working autonomously and effectively managing multiple deadlines.
